Upon his arrival, the filmmakers position Bud and his suitcases on a treadmill in front of a rear-screen projection. The background footage is gloriously dynamic, more like a city symphony than a realistic effect. Though our hero is destined for disillusionment, this early montage encourages us to share his initial feelings of wonderment.
