The scene is never confusing, but there are so many angles that some of the shot transitions violate the 180-degree rule. Note that there was a good practical reason why director George Stevens did not move the camera until the end of the scene. Movement would have restricted the editor’s options, thereby nullifying a key advantage of master-and-coverage technique.
