To film the Oklahoma Land Rush sequence, RKO placed a twenty-three-foot-tall tower on top of an automobile chassis. This mobile tower may have been impressive, but it was too top heavy to be practical. Perhaps fearing that the car might topple over, the filmmakers avoided moving the camera at the highest angles.
